Look at this! Look at it! I was not kidding when I said The Biltmore had the best ice cream ever :) Nom nom mmm!!!
P.S. And they filled the ENTIRE waffle cone with ice cream so you didn’t have to push it down with your tongue so that you’d have some creamy goodness left on the last bite.  It was so worth the 11.5 hour drive to go there!

Roadtrippin’

Hai :)

I went on a spur of the moment roadtrip and just got back late last night. It was epic!!!  We had a loose outline and changed routes along the way… it was soo much fun doing it that way!!!  Here’s a quick recap of where we went:

Wednesday

Savannah, GA — we drove 7.5 hours from SoFla just in time to have dinner at Lady & Son’s (Paula Deen’s restaurant). It was delish!! We then walked around the water front and window shopped before driving on to our next destination.

Thursday

Asheville, NC — got in at 3am. Woke up around 10am then went into downtown Asheville (such a great town) for brunch and shopping. Afterward, we went to The Biltmore and toured the estate (beautiful!). Had a picnic dinner in their garden and enjoyed an evening outdoor concert {Mercy Me) as the sun was setting behind the mountains. The Biltmore has the best ice cream ever (seriously). And I saw fireflies for the first time!!!

Friday

Left early in the morning and stopped by The Cove to visit the Billy Graham Chapel and tour the grounds.  It was lovely :) but we weren’t able to get into their training center due to a conference being held there.

Black Mountain, NC — had amazing mountain views. We strolled the main street and shopped in the quaint stores. Had lunch at Veranda Cafe, which had the best homemade soups & sandwiches. Afterwards we drove down south to Georgia.

Blairesville, GA — lots of land & rolling hills. Met up with some friends and had dinner and hung out on their porch which had amazing views of the mountains. At night, we were able to see a zillion stars and even the milky way with the naked eye.  In SoFla, the city lights are so bright we hardly ever get to see stars. In Blairesville, the stars seem so close you think you could almost touch them!

Saturday

Alpine Helen, GA — a sweet & quaint little German town with lots of cute shops and eateries. Went tubing in the river (fun!!!), had lunch, stopped at the Sweet Shoppe for some chocolate (yummm) and did a little shoe shopping. SO much fun!

Brasstown Bald, GA — we visited GA’s highest mountain (4,800 feet above sea level). You could see 4 states from the looking tower!!!  Afterward, we went to my friends parents home and fed horses and went shooting in the forest!! It was my first time ever seeing a gun in person let alone shooting one. My friend’s dad set up a shooting range with different guns and rifels. It was fun trying out the different ones. My fav was the 9mm and the Ugoslavian SKS… powerfull!

For dinner we went to the Brasstown Valley Lodge. It’s a beautiful place but it was dark by the time we got there so I couldn’t really see the views.  The lodge was nice though… with lots of comfy chairs and fireplaces to sit by. I want to come back here for a visit in the winter so I can drink hot chocolate by the fire.

Sunday

Left around 10am to start our drive home.  Made a brief stop in Atlanta but mostly drove straight through to So Fla. It really was a roadtrip of a lifetime!!!  Good times, good times… :D
